Questions
Why do my Snapchat memories show today’s date?
Snapchat stores the real date and location in a separate list (memories_history.json) instead of inside each photo. When you import the files, your gallery only sees the download date. Pastshift writes the original date and place back into every file.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser on your own device. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
How do I know nothing is missing?
Before restoring, Pastshift checks every memory against Snapchat’s own list and shows the count, for example 12,430 / 12,430. Anything Snapchat didn’t include is listed separately.
Is it free?
Your first 300 memories are restored free in full quality. Unlocking your whole library is a one-time payment. No subscription.
